The FOCAL International Awards are judged by a wide and diverse range of industry professionals, including FOCAL members as well as non-members. Being a juror is an incredible opportunity to engage with some of the very best work being produced today and another way in which FOCAL helps to bring the footage community and wider industry together.

FOCAL will be recruiting for second round jury members for all production categories and are always looking for new and enthusiastic jury members. If you would be interested in joining one of the juries, please email Madeline Bates on madeline@focalint.org for further details.

All production categories are judged in a two-stage process. Submissions for each category are firstly viewed and deliberated by a group of professionals who will collectively select what they consider to be the three strongest entries to be nominated for their respective category. All nominations are then open to wider deliberation and are judged individually by a large cross-section of industry.

The Restoration & Preservation category is judged by a special panel of experts.

The Personnel categories are judged by a special panel composed of FOCAL member libraries & researchers. The FOCAL International Lifetime Achievement Award is voted upon by the FOCAL International Executive.
