Following the success of Network Distributing Ltd’s restoration of Captain Scarlet, Gerry Anderson’s 1968 Supermarionation series Joe 90 was scanned from the original A+B negatives and digitally restored, addressing flickering, damage and stabilisation issues.Institutions, partners and funders: Network Distributing Ltd, ITV
The Stucky Project
A selection of 15mm films shot by Giancarlo Stucky with Gaumont-Demenÿ’s ‘Chrono de Poche,’ the first amateur cinematograph, purchased by Stucky in 1900. The restoration process included chemical treatment to allow some of the films to be scanned safely. The Zoo Gang
Previously only available in standard definition, the new restoration of The Zoo Gang has been carefully colour-graded and digitally restored, taking care to retain the original look. Imperfections such as density/colour flicker, damaged and torn frames and excessive destabilisation have been digital corrected. The 2019 edition of the FOCAL Awards will celebrate all of the above nominations and more on June 20th 2019 at the Troxy in London. We’ll also be presenting filmmaker Julien Temple with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
